Apparently they removed that feature years ago

I still can't open it.
I also dropped mine and it is now only moves between 3 and 4mm open.
Can't close it fully, or open it more than 4mm.
Using magnets I can hear lots of clicking going on, but still can't get the dam thing to open.

NKryptor
NKryptor
I have had mine for years and still cant open it. I bought mine in a shop somewhere and the guy behind the counter told me that the creater of the NKryptor came into the shop and he open the box within seconds. he put his hands behind his back at the time so the shop keeper couldnt she how it was done.
Have you opened yours yet?

I have had the Nkryptor since Christmas 2007. I have tried the magets and heard lots of clicking and the lights come on. I have tried the instructions given for opening, but I have had no luck. Could someone give me a hint, I am not looking for someone to come to my house and have tea and open it, I would just like to know if I can open it, or if it is broken.

why would you do that?....the weak design of the "puzzle" to begin with would keep me from giving away the procedure let alone the fact that you created it ...theres absolutely no strategy or logic to it!...thanks to SW its very pretty to look at and the game inside is fun ...but the puzzle is meerly a complicated make-up compact.....a secret is no longer a secret once revealed ..it is then worthless...like a magic trick....looks great until you know the secret...who would buy one now?....being a "bigshot" means so much to you that you will sacrifice your own creation to achieve a social status?....weak.....
this is a good place for you on this back alley cheater board...like the ghetto of the puzzle world...your in your element here!
and that copycat loser chris p..of revomaze will be joining you here shortly.
you guys need to get your own dream, and stop giving away SW company secrets....mr. bigshot!
everytime Andrew Reeves outsources the resulting puzzles suck anyway! |
What "secrets"? I've not posted the design or solution on here or anywhere.
I get no money from it and I don't currently work in an area anything to do with puzzles so I don't really care whether people know in real life that I designed it or not. It makes no difference to my career and has no relation to it in the period before or since. If I wanted to be a "bigshot" I'd post all my personal details. But I'm pretty much as anonymous as I ever was so I have no increased "social status". I joined this forum long before I'd even heard of SonicWarp, never mind do stuff for them.

| Well I know for a fact you're wrong, I designed it and it worked perfectly well when I saw it manufactured. You don't need anything other than your hands and the puzzle to open it. |
What? Yeah right, using magnetic hands!?! The ONLY way to open it is to use an extremely strong magnet, trust me I finally got mine open, and was seriously disappointed that you couldn't just open it with your hands.
Th Nkryptor was a let down... |
The solution has already been posted on here. You don't need a magnet to open it at all. Either you aren't doing it right or yours is faulty. I can't speak about current production quality because I don't do work for SW any more so they may have moved production to another company etc. The whole point of the design is that you don't need anything to open it (other than maybe a hard surface). Trust me, I've got the design drawings and prototypes.

Andrew Reeves knows who I am since he's the one that hired me to consult for SonicWarp for a time (ask him if you want, my name is Andrew M.). He came up with the general concept and I designed and got it into production. I don't do work for SonicWarp any more so I've got no vested interest either way.
