I'd guess that they won't send any more of the LED Mission Icefly packages. There isn't a need to point anyone there anymore.
Of course there is! You get sent to TSN, fill out a "personal and unique" sense print, fill out a profile, and get all into the ARG. That's one more player who may buy gum! I agree that it'll likely be a limited-supplies thing, but I think it's a little too early to be stopping production. In my opinion, at least. :3
That's not how it works. If you found out about TSN in the first place you go there, sign up, THEN you got the LED Icefly helicopter in the mail. The helicopter led you to missionicefly.com, which without another live drop we have no need for. If you buy a pack of gum and first learn of this ARG, you will be led to survivalcode.com, which has a link to TSN but not missionicefly. If you then go to TSN for your initial test, there is now a link to the pretty much useless missionicefly site on the main page. Thus, no need to spend any more postage to send LED helicopters to anyone anymore to lead them to a site that they are already being led to. Their purpose has been served. :D
Actually, by linking to missionicefly.com, they'll be led to survivalcode.com/thegenesis, where they'll get the full length video. The countdown unfortunately doesn't go to the icefly/achievement claim link any more, but to the countdown.htm page.
It still all connects through, but yes, anything specifically for Mission: Icefly (the live event) is unneeded now. Most of the achievements are still accessible if you're resourceful. But generally, any new users will sign up at survivalcode.com, set up their profile and get the profile achievement. Beyond that, *shrug*
Also, this thread is better continued over on the FAQ for players thread:
http://forums.unfiction.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=32679
Please continue there (and perhaps update the FAQ with some of the points made in this thread
)

Er... Yeah, okay, that was some serious derp on my part. XD;
However
, I still think the packages would be great in keeping people hooked (if they're not invested in it by way of forum, like us). So you find a screwy QR code in your gum, fill out your profile, and about a month later get a package. That sort of personal interaction has a great chance in making sure that person continues to buy gum. Instead of forgetting all about that weird Internet puzzle they stumbled across, it reaches out to them and arrests their attention again!

I agree with SolarMarr! It may seem like old news to those of us who have been at it since May or June, but for someone who might have just happened upon an icefly'd pack, there isn't really that much to catch up on. I think "the pulse" is still growing, so there is still use in sending out the packages.
Gotta wonder how many they've distributed, though...and whether or not everyone kept them. Do you think anyone signed up for it in passing, forgot all about it, and then got the package in the mail weeks later and thought "wtf is this!?" and trashed it?

It shouldn't be too late for the first package. 42e tends to like letting people jump in whenever they can. People have stopped reporting their packages though, since it's old news. d:
We can't say anything for sure about the phones. Texting was used during Mission: Icefly, and the only other instance of phone use was calling Traelek Institute, which you weren't required to do individually. So, you may miss out on something, you might not.

Who knows, maybe they were expecting more/less people participating... I'd think they would still mail stuff out "while supplies last."

So this would be my first ARG, and I just signed up for these forums as i've noticed that this is where everything happens... I got this from my 5 Gum pack, and i've read about ARGs before. But I still have a couple of questions...
1. Does it cost any money? Like, is it just free to play and join in?
2. Postal Address. Is it safe to give the site it? Also my phone number?
3. I noticed people were getting packages. So if I just give my postal address, then I will immediately get the package? What does the package do? Is it some sort of confirmation that I'm in the game?
If I have any other questions, I'll be sure to ask.
Thanks,
Rupayan
1 It is free minus the cost of gum.
2 It's totally safe
3 I think it is too late to get the first package, but for certain there is another package to come. The package just lead to Missionicefly.com which is done now.
Thanks! I just put in all the information for the game. It sounds really fun.
Just wondering also, it says it will message you through your phone number. Does this just mean text messages? Will we ever need to use data on our phones. Because I don't have data, although, I do have texting.
