This one has me stumped as well, so I'm just throwing out ideas. If this is modeled after ancient Etruscan, then it could be a phonetic message. Etruscan writing also had words separated by dots, like in the picture. Only weird thing about Etruscan is that it is sometimes read from right to left, rather than left to right. ANOTHER THING : Since there are two lines, it could be written "Boustrophedon", which is lines that are read alternating, like left to right, then right to left. But, if it's the same as some ancient Boustrophedon inscriptions, it'll go from the bottom to the top, right to left. I could be wrong though, since none of the letters are backwards, but it's still an idea. So, you may want to try working from the bottom right up, or the bottom left up, and seeing what you can find. Here are my sources : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Etruscan_language#Writing_system http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boustrophedon
Not really. I briefly considered counting the strokes used to draw the letters -- I imagine that the lack of curves is just part of the game scenario that I cannot see, not a clue. Unless there is some flavor text (which again i cannot see) or something else visual to give a hint, I'm afraid there just isn't enough data to work with. At least until I get a flash of inspiration...
Since this is now officially over, I can come out from the curtain and say hi. Hi! And I thought I'd quote the above post. For fun.

Newest puzzle is up.
ETA - got it!
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Bisque, chocolate, moccasin and tomato are all named web colors:
chocolate D2691E
bisque FFE4C4
moccasin FFE4B5
tomato FF6347
Using the numbers with the words on the image as indices for letters in each corresponding hex value you get:
chocolate 3, 2 = 62
bisque 4, 5 = 4C
tomato 5, 2 = 4F
moccasin 4, 2 = 4F
tomato 3, 5 = 64
Combine those and convert hex to ascii you get:
624C4F4F64 = bLOOd
Using BLOOD as a key for Vigenere, the code then becomes:
IT REQUIRES MORE
COURAGE TO SUFFER
THAN TO DIE
Now if I could just figure out 1.3...

It's tap code. You can use this to decode it:
http://www.braingle.com/brainteasers/codes/tapcode.php
As for this week's code, you need to chop the image into four columns and layer the pieces over each other to see the answer. It does require that you flip some of the pieces.
ETA - solution for this week's attached.

I dunno, but I have been checking this thread and 3 other threads on different boards concerning the NoKNownSurvivors site and the puzzles, and it looks likie no one has figured it out yet...or at least no one has who is talking about it hehe. I have given up, everytime I even look at the code it gives me a headache and then begins to mock me in a really annoying voice.

The first image posted with the missing letter was a bad screen grab of the video. My first image was correct at the time as I saved the frame directly from the video itself in Media Player Classic. The only addition since has been the 8th green highlight. The video itself changed size as well as you can tell if you compare the two images I posted. Still stumped here as well.

This may look like a lame attempt to bump a thread to regenerate interest in this cipher... but I really did have a question.
The first image I saw was posted at this link:
http://i287.photobucket.com/albums/ll145/darkcyder/deadspacecode3.jpg?t=1220895573
but it looks to me like it started with BE_FLII... there was a space where there is now a letter.
After that was posted, MrToasty replied with an attachment which differed slightly (there was no border, as i recall) but it still begain with BE_FLII... Unfortunately, he replaced the attachment (rather than adding another for comparison).
Now my question is: Was the recent addition of the letter "I" in the 3rd position: an error correction? a significant change in the clue? a hint? Or maybe there was something about how you are getting the image, from a screen capture perhaps?
I'm still stumped.
