New blog update on VD, inc podcast 6. Confirms that Tuesday was the only preliminary, so Karija & Janerichmond make it to the final on Friday. Congrats to you both. :worship: I am quite p***** at this as I didn't see anything saying this was the one and only shot, and it's nothing like the original info we were given, which was all about who gets the most chips over the week. That combined with the constant site problems, and then only 1 table available at the prelim just exacerbates it. My *luck* was poor anyway, so doubt I would have made it through, but it would have been nice to at least know what was going on. Also the big C talks about the code we found. Basically the same as Ned's chat, which was "there is NO code". At this point I'm not sure what the point of this bit was then. Last part of the podcast, the finals are at 5 on Friday, as well as the main game there allegedly will be other tables to play at ( ) or you can watch the main game. If Friday is the final, then I guess that we're almost at the end of this episode? If so this is easily the worst one SC have run, way below the standard of previous games.
Mabel updated her blog. It kind of looked like an attempt to tie up loose ends..sorta..?? So, it looks like this one is done, but I'm still sitting here with a bewildered look on my face, thinking "huh? Is that it?"

Yay we all get mentions, although it seems we've kinda put the big C out of business...

Reply from Mabel on the bad luck stuff. Looks like we did good. Although the only difference I can spot to the tournie site is ole Luckster is down to 15779 chips.
EDIT: Now he's down to 12208.....now 11241......8802

New posts in VOX and Mabel
So yeah there are two new posts one from Conelrad and one from Mabel.
It looks as if Mr. Baron has been possessed by the luck jack chip demon-thingy? The audio is kinda hard to hear, but essentially it sounds like we have to beat the lucky jack in boat on Tuesday or Parare will disappear forever.
On that note Mabel suggests that we show her a bunch of things that are bad luck to try and bring down lucky jack a bit. She also says that Scott is going to try and help get Mr. Clarkson back from Shelia arresting him so we'll see what happens there.
Oh fun.
Edit:
And I almost forgot, the game for Tuesday is already set up and it looks like Lucky Jack is starting with 100,000 chips.
Yeah, this should be fun.

Karija
Finals should be starting soon, looks like they're updating the boat page for it.
and baron has double the chips of everyone else - gr. I also seem to have a "redeal boat" luck button, as well.
Edit: And what does complaining about Baron's chips cause? Server problems. Forty five minutes after it was supposed to start and the game hasn't gotten anywhere b/c the page is completely down.
edit the second: And we're back in!

Yeah, this is the first one I've tried, and when this one has held my interest less than the other two I am involved in that are free, it is highly unlikely I will sign up for another SC one.
That's kinda my concern, the previous games have been good to great, and to be fair to SC they are trying to improve each time. I guess their options to improve the games increase with their fanbase (ie more money), so it would be sad to see it drop away. They always ask for feedback after a game, so hopefully they will take some learnings from that.
Back to Friday though, I've just remembered I have a work night out, so chance are I won't even be around for the final

Agreed. I was under the impression that the tournament would be open 24 hours (or at least more than 3 hours) a day for a few days. That would allow people to pop in and out and play a few hands whenever they got the chance. Personally, I'm at work between 5-8, so I couldn't do much even if I could get into the tournament when it was actually working.
If you're going to limit the times people can play, at least have enough tables open so that everyone who wants to play has a chance.

Shady
Thanks. I got lucky with two hands, but I was surprised too that there were no other tables available. My impression was that anyone could join and play for the final table.
My thoughts for the final are that whoever is playing for us should try to keep the Baron from getting cards that he might win with and possibly to try to 'give' Scot some of their chips if possible, apart from that if the Baron is cheating, I'm not sure whether any of this will matter.
Other thoughts were: how is the lucky chip going to be used and what about the Conelrad audio file with the pair of 2s final hand. How does this all fit in?

Karija
Thanks! Just got lucky!
Well, the page did say all traces clear after that - I'm thinking now the point is just to know that The Baron (tm) is cheating. After the TO update, looks like he's a regular thug, too.
I've been kinda frustrated by the program, myself. I'm wondering if it'll be over on Friday (doesn't seem like we've done much?) or if that's just some catalyst - in which case, the previous site problems just drew things out far too long.
Anythoughts on strategy for Friday would be welcome
Also, who will we nominate as Mabel's champion to the lucky dude? She wanted two or three names. As jane (Shady) and I are at the final table, I'd think one of us should be suggested. I already sent off an email to her w/a pic of my lucky charm.
