Another Lookup Site?
Where should I go?
While it's theoretically possible to solve this with the two ingredients that we non-Brits can look up, there are several possible recipes using those ingredients.
I got stuck trying to ID the barcodes with letters. Could someone point me to a site that lets you decode those?

I don't know about that - I solved this one by myself a couple of weeks ago using only 'the power of the Internet' (or Yahoo! Search, actually). After only a short time of searching, I found two of the ingredients and knew what the dish must be from that.

thank goodness for ufiction and everyone helping eachother...
not being in the uk and able to visit a couple of those stores

I own a retail store and I recognized that they were upc codes right away, but we have all custom products and we use our own barcoding system, not ones preprinted on our products by national or international brands. I thought this should have been a purple or silver or something. Very difficult for a game that is being sold outside of the UK now.
Anyway.. thank you everyone for sharing the findings of your hunt.

Numeric Codes
While I know the card has been solved, I read through the thread, and saw a lot of discussion around the Alpha-Numeric Codes, but no real discussion of the strictly numeric codes.
For the record, the numeric-only codes are:

UPC Codes
There is a site on the web where you can punch the codes in to look up what the codes represent:

Interesting recipe. I would have at least added some shredded cabbage.

Legion of doom
Good day,
we are three german Perplex City addicts and have solved almost 69 cards. But our hair got grey by trying to solve this card. As we read through this topic, we came to the conclusion that there maybe no chance to find the right answer without an MS-Store nearby or your responses from the companies. Or did we miss a hint for an easier solution?

Lol I know the answer has been found but I just wanna throw a spanner in the works and say that the M 0265 263 S barcode also works in Iceland and is some sort of roasted duck!
Anybody else found that they also work in other stores for different products?

After entering the answer on the ppc website, I can confirm the answer is:

Chicken spring rolls
Well done for finding those ingredients everyone!

i used a programme called barcode descriptor and, like the rest of you, got a company called hoo hing for the 50 barcode. but i also got contact information for a man named chris poon? anyone else tried this.
for the 88 barcode there was a "parse error" (yeah, whatever that is) and an email address to report it. have emailed but not heard back yet...
don't think it's important since we've all gathered it's a stir fry thingy but whatevs.

If the direct e-mail approach doesn't work, it would be worth visiting a Hoo Hing store in London as 'TYJ spring roll pastry' is on their product list.
