http://www.1and1.com for a limited time only (until like April 24 or something) you can get a free domain name with 2000 MB web space, 50 GB bandwidth, and 500 email addresses set to your .com/net/org. But only for 6 months. It's pretty cool. I don't know how much it'll cost after the 6 months that it's free for, but I don't know how long you'll want it for. Pretty sweet deal, i'm using it: http://www.wirth-enterprises.com lol
People actually offer free domain hosting? That's incredible.

This is a very very good web host.
http://www.000webhost.com/.
It does everything it says it will do and support from them takes two days max. Normally I get it within a day or a few hours. You can host as many sites as you want there with 1500.0 MB of storage! You can tell that this isn't an affiliate link, so I'm telling you. This is good.

I registered for this, and received the call completing my registration, but haven't gotten any further indication of my registration status. Did they fire off an email to you after you confirmed via the automated phone call?
Most importantly, how were you given a Customer ID for access to the control panel?
edit:
Nevermind, I got an email. Two, actually.

I like Ripplehost.com. Low on tech support but great price and reliable. I host my website there and am happy.
