Fenwicked, You ROCK! That was totally fun to play. A couple of suggestions for you while you are still developing the game: Add more playable characters. For instance you could have Cortana, Sgt. Johnson, and other marines from the books. Cortana could use her hacking skills to confuse, stun, electrocute (short circuit), overload systems, etc to the enemies. Sgt. Johnson could heal himself during battle, and be a sniping specalist. Maybe include "hidden" characters; for instance you can coax a Covenant Engineer to join our party. Once in the party the Engineer would act as a healer for the MC and repair battle damage during battle. Upgradeable weapons/skills: Example = Sniper rifle starts off without a scope, then add a X5 Scope, then later a X10 scope. Each upgrade would of course be more accurate and do more damage. "Dual Weild" is a skill that the MC must learn along the course of the game. Each color of enemy gets a specific name: (like what they did back in the Final Fantasy where they used the same images with different colors to create new enemies.) Examples: Blue Elite = Solider Elite; Red Elite= Veteran Elite; Black Elite = Special Forces Elite; Poka Dotted Elite = Interior Decorator Elite... (you get the point). Party can carry an Inventory of weapons, but can only switch between two weapons per battle. Two weapons can be "Equipped" before a battle but can not be changed once a battle starts. I'll add more suggestions as I think of them. Good job! Keep up the good work. I look forward to playing more.
Slowly but surely, yes.
I did the overshield and the active camo sprites there for the game. The rocket launcher isn't actually mine. It's from a sprite comic called
Halo: Resolution
that I stumbled across. But I probably will end up using it or something derived from it.

There is a Heretic who is leading a faction of Elites in painting over our sacred purple. He will be going away for the next day on a trip that we have set up with his girlfriend. You and a camera crew will then have 24 hours to transform his space while he is out, and surprise him with design! Oh, and then... you know, kill him for his insolence. Do not fail us... Designor!
LMAO! Who knew the Covenant were so fashion conscious and savvy?

Heheh.
A lot of that is stuff I was actually thinking about implementing. There's a built in tool in RPG Maker to pallette-swap your enemies. And you can even make your character able to use two weapons at once, though I don't think there's a way to "learn" that ability.
Thanks, man. Suggestions like these are exactly what I'm looking for.

RPG Maker seems to lend a wonderful old school feeling to the whole thing too. I had flashbacks to Dragon Warrior I waaaay back in the day.

Thanks, Thunderclap. I'm already working on the next stage.
And I really don't know anything about programming. I'm using a program called RPG Maker 2000. You may have heard of it. It's a very user friendly program that lets you make RPG games. You basically get to design your world and scenario without having to worry about any of the programming stuff.

I'm at work, but I'll check it out later. I didn't realize that you dabbled in video game programming. It is also a personal enjoyment of mine. Maybe we can work on something together one day.
What tools did you use?

Fenwicked that's really cool, I'd love to see it developed further. Consider yourself pushed
