Not me, not any more. Usta be, once upon a time, back when my method of connection to the net was a 28.8 dialup, as "badept25", for about 3 months or so, but then I drifted off to the Spot and other online amusements in the then-burgeoning brave new world of the World Wide Web. But yah, I was once a MOOer, and before that a regular dialup BBS denizen on the 1200 and 300 baud modems, back when I thought I was all badass and hax0r on my smokin' Apple //c, and before that I used to play ADVENT on a dumb terminal with an acoustic cradle modem in the basement of my grotty little grade school when I wasn't writing six-line programs in PET BASIC to amuse my wibbly little self. And who knows, 10 years from now I may be permanently jacked into some proto-version of the Matrix on my Pentium XXXVI, through a wetwire fused to the back of my occipital lobe, flailing around in three-dimension hyperspace and arguing with disembodied avatars about how-much-more-meta-than-thou I can be. There is no escape. Hmm, odd, I feel like Sandra Bullock all of a sudden. O
If I remember correctly, the key is in the maze and you unlock it from below.

Actually, the coolest Zork thingy I've seen is here:

Embedded in a 404 page!

Ah, the good old days - that picnic in summer 1984 -- huddled over a terminal on the porch hacking at Zork with the two computer geeks while their respective wife/girlfriend cast aspersions about people with no lives from out on the sunny patio.... I Loved That Game!

AHHHHHH those were the days! Although I was commodore all the way!!!!!!!!!! Could fit much more than a 6 line program back then!

Speaking of Rogue, has anybody seen Scryer lately?
Hmmm...maybe I'll be less anonymous if I remember to sign in first.

STORY: The Ghost of ARG Christmases Past
"Reminisce about ARGs gone by", huh? Is that what this forum category is for?
Well, okay. What about that ZORK, eh??!?!??11! Wow, THOSE were the days. Hah, hah, still slays me. Remember when that one grue came up out of the darkness and then bit that guy's head clean.....eh? what? Single-player ONLY? Text, no graphics, originally installed on a VAX server, mostly accessible only to Infocom fanatics and hardcore early-80s card-punching engineer geeks? Not really a "multiplayer" game, you say?
Um, okay, never mind.
Well, then.....wow, remember that awesome LambdaMOO? Good times, kickin' it online with a bunch of fellow virtual thrill jockeys looking for the next big.....huh? say again? LambdaMOO's still online, and less than 3% of us were ever members to begin with? Ah, foo.
Err.....ahh.....heh. Ultima Online?
Everquest?
Playing drinking games online with 12 year old kids signed on to MTV2.com chat rooms, waiting for Courtney Love to flash her boobs at the camera again?
Sending prank spam to www.whitehouse.gov asking the President if he has Dick Cheney In A Can?
Anyone?!?!
Argh.
Well, never mind then. Sigh. Okay, kids, gather round, for I shall now tell you all a famous fable about this thing we used to call "the Beast".....
Ozy, looking for inspiration
